There are two different ways to use WordPress. You can set up a blog on the WordPress servers at WordPress.com, or you can download the software from WordPress.org and take complete control. The advantages of using WordPress.com are obvious: it’s free and you don’t have to pay for hosting. The downsides are that you are limited to what you can call it and how your website will look and perform. Also, if you host at WordPress.com your site is branded with their logo and will contain links you are unable to remove. If you are serious about your business, I suggest you set up WordPress on your own site, using paid hosting. That way it will be easier from the start to make your website look exactly how you want it to. You’ll also be saving yourself problems later, should your site really take off – which is what I hope you’ll be working towards.
